Working in a Forest of Framing

A recent photo, titled “Working in a Forest of Framing,” showing the framing at one of my current projects.

In California the majority of single family homes are built using wood framing. Wood framing is economical to use and is a sustainable absorber of carbon that offsets greenhouse gasses. Wood frames are also light in weight allowing the house to bend and flex, which makes it better able to withstand ground movement- aka earthquakes.

In life, we’re all hit by earthquakes- sometimes small, sometimes large.

Just as building codes have been upgraded through the years to require houses to be able to better withstand earthquakes, shouldn’t we be constantly upgrading our personal codes to withstand the frequent earthquakes we experience?

If you find yourself getting upset over and over again by the same “earthquakes” in your life, it’s time for an upgrade of your personal code.
